About the Programme 

The Cantonese dialect is fantastic!  With so many possibilities between high and low tones, mellifluous phrases characterize the narrative style of the intangible cultural heritage—Naamyam.

Mom is the best at turning everything into a game.  For example, grocery shopping becomes a "Vegetable Challenge" and learning the relationship terms of a family tree becomes a "Relatives Battle".  Even Grandpa creatively makes a "Yum Cha Song" with the story of having dim sum in the morning.  The lively sounds and unique geniality of Naamyam have permeated every part of Grandpa’s, Mother’s, and Lok Lok’s lives. 

With Cantonese opera veteran Yuen Siu Fai as the Artistic Director, this show features the music integrating East and West by Ng Cheuk Yin, down-to-earth lyrics by Chan Yiu Sum (Aamuk), and live Guzheng performance to present an innovative yet traditional Naamyam experience.  Let’s embark on this amazing Naamyam journey with Cantonese opera artist Chung Yat Ming and professional drama actresses Ruby Wong and Musette Tsang.

About the Arts Group

One Table Two Chairs Charitable Foundation established in 2018 as a Hong Kong registered non-profit charity dedicated to conserve, pass on, promote and develop Chinese opera and its related folk arts. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Professor Yuen Siu Fai, the arts group promotes traditional Chinese opera in a lively and dynamic way.
