M14d | Discovery of Military Relics in Lyemun Fort (Completed)

Lyemun occupies a strategic position guarding the eastern approach to Victoria Harbour, where the narrowest watercourse between Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsula is located. In view of its strategic value, Lyemun Fort was built on a headland overlooking Lyemun Pass. Through visiting different checkpoints on the Lyemun Fort Historical Trail, students can have a better understanding of the historical background and development of the most formidable Lyemun Fort which was built in the territory more than a century ago, and learn more about Hong Kong’s strategic position and the related military arrangements in the past.
