Conserving Paper Objects

Have you ever tried to laminate photos for preservation or repair a torn page in a book with adhesive tape? Actually these household practices will cause an irreversible damage to paper objects including photos and books. During the activity, the conservators will introduce appropriate ways to preserve and archive paper objects and the downsides of household practices. In addition, the techniques of traditional Chinese bookbinding will also be introduced and students will have a chance to make their own thread-bound notebooks.
