M06c-3 | Topic 3: Tour and Workshop: Let’s Go to a 1960s Herbal Tea Shop(Some sessions cancelled)

From the end of the Second World War all the way to the 1960s, herbal tea shops were very popular in Hong Kong. Most of them had radios, so customers could listen to music, the news and chat shows, while some had jukeboxes to attract young people, who could choose their favourite pop songs to play. In this workshop, the instructor will take students to visit the “Recreating a Classic: The Best Features of The Hong Kong Story” exhibition and introduce the history and interior design of local herbal tea shops. Students will also have a chance to make a paper model of herbal tea shop and have some hands-on fun learning about Hong Kong in the 1960s.
