Guangdong hand puppetry, one of the oldest forms of puppetry, was introduced to Hong Kong in the early 20th century. Hand puppet Cantonese opera shows are usually performed in traditional festivals and other celebrations. The puppeteers will perform an adapted puppet show and introduce the technique of operating hand puppets. Students will be given a chance to operate a hand puppet and learn more about this ICH item.
