Music has always played an important role in the McDull series. To save Springfield Kindergarten, the principal (Anthony Wong Chau-sang) draws from his own musical past and forms a children’s choir using his students. With McDull’s angelic voice leading the way, the choir becomes a surprise sensation. In the series’ fifth film, creators Brian Tse and Alice Mak pay tribute to music educators everywhere with this heartwarming story of an unlikely musical miracle. In addition to being a love letter to music, The Pork of Music is also a bittersweet and at times very funny exploration of social problems in contemporary Hong Kong.
