"Hearing the City" will create fusion music works by blending music with the urban environmental landscape, showcasing the historical and cultural diversity of Hong Kong. Featuring a series of community programmes, the project aims to establish a musical brand in the unique Hong Kong style.​

The project is also one of the activities in the Chinese Culture Promotion Series. The LCSD has all along promoted Chinese history and culture through organising an array of programmes and activities to enable the public learn more about broad and profound Chinese culture.
