Cantonese traditional theatre, recognized as an intangible cultural heritage, is a unique artistic treasure of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao region, blending drama, music, dance, and martial arts.  Through a systematic in-school education programme themed around the Four Great Classical Chinese Novels, students will be introduced to the four core elements of Cantonese traditional theatre — singing, acting, speech, and acrobatics.  This integrated learning plan combines literary appreciation, Cantonese traditional theatre art, and creative thinking, aiming to spark students' interest in traditional Chinese culture and performing, allowing the younger generation to experience this cultural heritage firsthand and carry it forward.

Implementation

  • From September 2025 to June 2026
