About the Programme

The percussion family is the largest in the Western orchestra.  It comprises of a vast array of instruments which adopt different ways to produce sound.  Under the baton of guest conductor Jeff Leung, the Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra is going to perform a selection of orchestral works and to explore with you different percussion instruments in the orchestra.  Are you ready for a bustling carnival?

About the Arts Group

Founded in 1976 by Dr Yip Wai-hong, the Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra aims at promoting music among the public.  The orchestra also provides a platform for collaborations with local artists from different arts aspects to diversify the presentations of classical music.  Its commissioned animation productions such as The Carnival of the Animals, Pictures at an Exhibition, Peer Gynt Suites, Peter and the Wolf , The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra have provided a new realm in audience development and toured in Beijing and performing arts venues in the Greater Bay Area.  Starting from September 2023, Andrew Ling serves as the Music Director of the orchestra. 

Guest Conductor Jeff Leung graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas USA, with a Master Degree of Music in Orchestral Conducting.  He has been the resident conductor of the Hong Kong Children’s Symphony Orchestra since 2016.
