About the Group

Established in 2003, Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble is an active professional Chinese music ensemble emphasising local talent and producing quality chamber concerts.  The group presents a fascinating and diversified Hong Kong version of Chinese music with a new look, and features a unique Hong Kong style with its excellent performance.  It has premiered more than 60 pieces by local composers, and curated programmes full of local characteristics for performance in Hong Kong and over 20 countries/regions over the years.  The group is currently a three-year grantee of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.

About the Programme

‘Made in Lingnan’ presents authentic Lingnan culture through fun activities for the whole family and parent-child music activities, including parent-child music theatre exploring local street food stalls known as Dai Pai Dong, workshops on the appreciation of Cantonese ensemble music, and lectures cum recitals introducing Cantonese ballads.  The aim is to use music as a fun mode of education to introduce kids and parents to the world of Lingnan music.
