One Table Two Chairs Charitable Foundation aspires to preserve the beauty of traditional Chinese operas and relate them to modern life.  By giving a new look to Cantonese opera, it seeks to appeal to the younger generations regardless of their home language to widen and deepen the audience base for the art form.

Targeting a general audience, ‘The Three Kingdoms in Cantonese Opera’ delivers touring performances, talks and exhibitions to explore the more audience-friendly side of the art form.  The Programme connects well-known characters and stories from the history of the Three Kingdoms as well as traditional Cantonese opera with daily life to enhance participants’ knowledge in Cantonese operatic art.  Once the audience understand the distinctive stage conventions of Cantonese opera, they will find their own way to appreciate it.  The Programme invites new approaches to understand this vibrant and beautiful art form.
