About the Project

What we call tradition refers to those treasures which, having weathered the torrent of time, are remains too precious to part with, even after being admired and savoured many times.  Through community touring performances, talks, and mobile interactive exhibitions, “Love, Everlasting - The Purple Hairpin” revisits the breathtaking moments of traditional Cantonese operatic arts.  It invites everyone to appreciate the lingering charm of traditional Chinese culture, reconnects modern society with the cultural heritage of the past, and bridges the gap between tradition and people.

The project is also one of the activities in the Chinese Culture Promotion Series. The LCSD has all along promoted Chinese history and culture through organising an array of programmes and activities to enable the public learn more about broad and profound Chinese culture.
