PAM02 | Colleen Lee X Romer String Quartet Brahms and his Social Network - A Guided Piano Quintet Recital

About the Programme

Music create bonds between people, and chamber music, through its delicate and close-knit ensemble, best reveals that connection.

Johannes Brahms left behind a prolific and widely admired body of work, including many chamber pieces. He valued friendship deeply, often drawing creative inspiration from his closest friends and their relationships, which resulted in countless moving passages.  This programme presents Brahms's works for piano and strings as a way to introduce the key figures in his musical network. The programme's highlight is his famous Piano Quintet, performed by five professional musicians.

Alongside a vivid musical journey, the musicians will act as guides, providing lively explanations to help students navigate the music's structure and emotions.  Before the performance concludes, there will be a Q&A session where students can share their listening experiences, and deepen their understanding of Brahms and chamber music through interaction.
