Tour & Workshop

Human settlement in Hong Kong can be traced back to at least six thousand years. Along the shores and islands, early inhabitants left behindcord‑marked pottery, geometric stamped pottery, and various polished stone axes and adzes. These artifacts signalize a distinctive fusion of inlandLingnan traditions and maritime cultural influences. Looking into the diverse decorative motifs of Neolithic pottery in the exhibition, students will knowmore about the living of ancient people in Hong Kong. Through a hands‑on workshop, students could also create their own pottery, gaining a deeperunderstanding of the characteristics of prehistoric pottery utensils.
