Tour and Workshop

The blue and white porcelain created by Chinese ceramic artisans has been renowned both domestically and internationally for over a thousand years. Itreached its peak during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Numerous fragments of blue and white porcelain kiln-fired in Jingdezhen in the mid-Ming dynastyfor exports have been unearthed at the Penny's Bay site on Lantau Island, while the kilns in Wun Yiu village in Tai Po were producing blue and whiteporcelain since the Ming dynasty, supplying both the local market and exports. Through the workshop, students not only appreciate the aesthetics of blueand white porcelain but also gain insight into Hong Kong's historical role as a hub for trade between China and the world.
