Session One: Guided Tour for "Lost and SoundHong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH)" Exhibition Series

This exhibition comprises three themes: Hong Kong Festivals and Traditional Craftsmanship,  Ordinary Extraordinary, and Sam Tung Uk and Traditional Village Culture.  The exhibition is presented in an innovative way with the use of multimedia.  Students will appreciate and learn about local ICH came across in their daily lives and on special occasions, as well as those closely related to Cantonese Opera.

Session Two: A Guide to the Costumes of Cantonese Opera

Cantonese opera is a type of traditional theatre conducted in Cantonese in the southern China.  It was inscribed onto the UNESCO's Representative List of the ICH of Humanity in 2009.  It is a gem of Hong Kong's performing arts, also embodying numerous related craftsmanship like the costumes and headdresses.  A veteran of making costumes and accessories of the Cantonese opera will talk about the Cantonese opera in Hong Kong and demonstrate the associated craftsmanship to deepen students' understanding on local ICH.
