About the Group

Through the vibration and beauty of African arts and culture, the association is a place to nourish the understanding of harmony and unification, both inwardly within an individual and outwardly as a collective.  'Connect, Share, Build, Empower the self and the community.  Bring Healing to those in need.'

About the Project

The history of African musical instruments - especially the drum, is a rich and diverse one.  Dating back thousands of years ago, the drums played a key role in African communities.  Our ancestors create them in various shapes and sizes from natural materials.  Drumming is an important practice for communication, cultural expression, and spirituality for countless generations and continue to do so in the modern world.  African drum rhythm is a testament not only of its deep cultural, it has a special spiritual significance in that it can connect with our breaths, footsteps and heartbeats, aligning the fundamentals of living.  Today in our city, we are recalling and reconnecting to this spirit of life.  Recreating percussion instruments from the most hands-on materials of our daily life. 'Rhythm Booster!' is a musical playground of interactive performance, exhibition and workshops for, of course, boosting rhythm and positive energy for all!
