Founded over 25 years ago, Class 7A Drama Group is a professional drama company focusing on 'text and simplicity'.  Marked by their high-quality scripts, and flexible and innovative renderings, the group has been giving virtuoso performances, which reach out to the locals and build a new form of rapport between theatre arts and the community.

Heritage conservation is closely related to collective memory and cultural identity.  It represents the inheritance of our cultural symbols, and records local historical changes.  Owing to social changes, however, our customs are becoming simpler, and interest in traditional handicraft is diminishing.  Should we remain steadfast in preserving these customs and craftsmanship in their original forms before they evolve into something different or even vanish?  Or should we come to terms with their demise over the course of time?  Are there any other possibilities between 'keeping them unchanged' and 'letting them move with the times'?  This project features the stories of the successful  transformation of several types of traditional craftsmanship, such as embroidered shoes, Chinese costume and Qipao sewing, and Guangcai porcelain painting, which are carriers of local history and culture, or testaments to the ups and downs of our economy and the changes in our cultural trends.  Let us look at how the transformations worked, and see if they can be a source of inspiration for other declining industries.
