Through the Arts on Air radio drama, interesting guided appreciation materials and extension activities specially designed for junior primary students, the programme aims to arouse their interest in arts. Through exploring sounds of daily life, children are given a key to unleash their creativity in arts and the art of speaking from a wider perspective. Teachers can access the radio drama and teaching kits through the on-line interactive platform of the Project. Teachers can make use of the radio drama and teaching kits flexibly according to their teaching schedules and needs. The programme also includes workshops for the principals and teachers to inspire and encourage them to promote performing arts in schools.

The programmes are free for all primary schools to join.

1. Arts On Air Radio Drama

A total of 10 episodes of radio drama are created with a variety of interesting topics. Each lasting for around 10 minutes, 5 of them will be released in the first and second school terms respectively. Varied forms of art expression will be introduced by means of different creative sound elements in each episode. In addition to the featured topics, teachers are also welcome to interact with the arts group in co-creating "A Sound Journey" and to suggest themes for the upcoming radio drama.

2. Guided Appreciation Materials and Extension Activities

Interesting guided appreciation materials and extension activities are designed based on the theme of each episode of Arts On Air.

Through sharing and participating in the specially designed arts activities and with the use of these materials and guidance of teachers, students are provided with opportunities to enhance their knowledge, explore their creativity, curiosity and interest in performing arts.

3. On-line Interactive Platform

An on-line interactive platform is devised to support teachers and encourage them to interact with teachers of other participating schools and the arts group. In addition to using the radio drama and the teaching materials on the e-platform, the teachers can share their experiences in arts education, the implementation of extension activities and their creative works as well as acquire the arts group’s guidance to create their own arts projects.
