PAD04 | Contemporary Dance Literacy: Dance at Dawn by City Contemporary Dance Company (In Cantonese) (Cancelled)parent

Creative genius Yuri Ng, Artistic Director of City Contemporary Dance Company, has meticulously arranged a new piece of work Contemporary Dance Appreciation – Dance at Dawn for the School Culture Day Scheme.  In a relaxed and humorous way, he stages a marvelous dance competition with exquisite dance movements. Professional dancers showcase various movements to compare the function, power and feeling exerted by the body of each dancer.  What is Contemporary Dance?  What is the best form of dance? Is it good or bad? Right or wrong? Appropriate or inappropriate? Is the dancer lazy or putting in excessive effort? The audience will reach their own conclusions regarding the above questions.  Besides the vivid performance, how dance movements are combined from zero to one will be demonstrated in front of the audience step by step, while the audience can even participate in the process.  The performance aims to arouse the perception, application and expression of the mobility of the body and to help the audience affirm their own personal characteristics and independent personality.

City Contemporary Dance Company was founded in 1979.  As the chief modern dance troupe of Hong Kong, it has been repeatedly invited to perform overseas on behalf of Hong Kong and has won a reputation for its creative productions with plentiful characteristics of Hong Kong.
