The experience of learning from the Chinese ink painting master was a positive one. Our students very much enjoyed this as it was practical and they also were able to keep their artworks created. Prior learning through the guided tour of the Chinese paintings was also very valuable.

We would like to give our students some Chinese art knowledge and experiences on Chinese ink painting, therefore we signed up for the programme. It is always good that have a Chinese ink painting master to teach the students in the museum after visiting the related Art exhibition. It was a fun experience to paint carrot, white radish and cherries with Master Wong (he was the guide for the Art tour too) for students and teachers.

"The Enchanting Brush" raises my interest and knowledge about art after getting more in depth about Chinese painting, composition, techniques and the meaning behind. I believe the most impressive activity was following Mr Wong in drawing the carrots and cherries, my first proper time in learning how to draw Chinese drawing. It was very impressive how one brush stroke could change in various ways in Chinese paintings. It was very fun. Overall I would join in-school art activities if there was any, especially regarding Chinese paintings. Learning my culture was a very fun lesson. It also allows me link back to my Chinese heritage. Overall, interesting and fun!

"The Enchanting Brush" helped me to go out of my comfort zone as I usually use acrylic or watercolour paint. This helped me learn more about ink and Chinese painting as well as the history of some of the artworks displayed there. To me the most impressive activity was painting the cherries because it seemed really easy but there were certain techniques that we needed to know. This workshop did raise my interest in joining other art activities because it is not something that I usually do, and I would like to try new things and step out of my comfort zone.

After joining "The Enchanting Brush", my knowledge in Chinese painting has increased by quite a lot. The most impressive activity was when the instructor painted the carrot within seconds. He wasn’t worried about mistakes. Yes, it raised my interest in joining in-school/ outside school art activities because it was fun and fascinating to visit art museums and workshops to learn about different cultures and skills the artists used.
